As you know, Fr. José continues to face difficulties obtaining his visa so he can stay with us as our pastor long-term. The pandemic has understandably created a significant backlog of work for US embassies and consulates. A parishioner has suggested that, to help Fr. José overcome these difficulties, the following novena to St. Joseph, head of the Holy Family and guardian of the Church would be a great way for us to ask for intervention in this troubling situation.
By saying the Novena leading into Father’s Day, we will be asking the adopted father of Jesus Christ (St. Joseph) to help our spiritual father (Fr. Jose Noriega) fully enter into his mission at St. Mary Parish as soon as possible. We are inviting you to join us in prayer together with your families starting today, Friday June 11, and continue for nine days ending on Saturday, June 19.
O Saint Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in you all my interests and desires.
(For a speedy resolution to Fr. José’s visa situation.)
O Saint Joseph, do assist me by your powerful intercession, and obtain for me from your Divine Son all spiritual blessings, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, So that, having engaged here below your heavenly power, I may offer my thanksgiving and homage to the most Loving of Fathers.
O Saint Joseph, I never weary of contemplating you and Jesus asleep in your arms; I dare not approach while He reposes near your heart. Press Him in my name and kiss his fine head for me and ask him to return the Kiss when I draw my dying breath.
Saint Joseph, Patron of departed souls – pray for me. Amen.
